Good: We went to Sofia's restaurant in Margate for Valentine's Day and the ambience and lanterns were pretty. The style was nice. Unfortunately, that was it. The food was not good at all, the service was in the gutter and it ruined our Valentine's Day. I should have listened to my friends and went to a different restaurant for such a great occasion. Sofia of Margate has a lot to work on.. Bad: The food which is the reason you go to a restaurant was awful. Sofia's Restaurant is NOT upscale when it comes to the terribly prepared food, bumbling, rude and very bad service, loud atmosphere of the music which created more of a caotic experience than beautiful and romantic. Many of the dinner's were seen going back to the kitchen by angry customer's. This place is farthest thing from a great dining experience.. Improvements: Since the food was horrendously terrible and the service equally embarrasing, Sofia of Margate needs to work on many factor's. They need to get a real chef and not someone without strong experience seems like a diner. Sofia of Margate is all hype. It is very expensive and there is no value here. Sofia is the worst restaurant in Margate, NJ. It was a bad, insulting experience for everyone. They have no idea what they are doing. I am sorry to say.. Other: Sofia Resturant in Margate, NJ is a place to avoid if you want a really great fancy Greek meal. It is the farthest thing from a great dining experience. It is all gingerbread without any substance. Sofia herself, the owner was very nasty to the diners. Sofia was defensive and amateurish. She seems like an angry, bitter woman and needs to learn how to run a fine dining establishment because this is not it. We will never return nor will our friends and family..
