Businiess name:  Flyin' Roll Chicken Dinner Hse
Review by:  Roger N.
Review content:
Atrocious…. Being from New Orleans and new to Tulsa, OK. my family and I decided to see who had the best fried chicken in the area. After many hours of deliberation and searching, we arrived at Flyin’ Roll Chicken House with relatively high expectations due to public opinion and friends suggestions. Early in the week, we decided to go on Saturday Night and start our evening there. We had just completed some shopping at Woodland Hills Mall and we decided it was time to eat…round 5:30 pm I believe it was. This is an unusual time for us to eat as we like to dine later in the evening, but shopping made us hungry. Being “foodies in training” we like to enjoy our meal from start to finish and becomes a visceral experience from the second we arrive at a new restaurant. NOT knowing how the “process” to get a table works…I walk up to the “host” station and ask to put my name in for 2. There was no greeting or gratitude as a new patron entered the establishment…I was immediately halted with; “…we’re seating all two-tops at once.” Uhhhh…what? So I politely stepped away and stood by my wife for a few and when the “host” seemed ready to assist me, I asked for a table for 2 and provided my name. We waited and watched the chaos ensue. Lack of organization and communication abound, I dismissed it as the start of the “dinner rush.” 10 minutes pass and we finally get seated in a room with what seemed about 10 servers. The seating person said nothing to us at all; just dropped the menus (a single Xeroxed page) on the table and walked off. No hint of who a server was to be or when someone might be there to serve us. Again…this was dismissed to the restaurant becoming busy. Oddly still excited about the night’s experience, the “Chicken Dance” song sounded through the room and the servers danced around the middle of the room doing the “dance.” Following the dance, we motioned to a server and asked who would be serving us. She seemed concerned as to why a server hadn’t arrived and said she would be our server. Then…she walked off; only to help the 2 tables that were seated AFTER and on either side of us. My wife and I looked at each other in dismay, not knowing what to make of the situation. Patience now wearing a bit thin, a new person arrived at our table and told us our server would be right over. This was AFTER 10 more minutes passed. Low and behold a server arrived with a salad consisting of Ice Berg Lettuce doused in Ranch Dressing. Neither my wife nor I enjoy Ranch Dressing and I personally DON’T put dressing on my salad…EVER. So a decision has been apparently made for me without my knowledge. Okay – perhaps that’s the way things work here. At this point however, there have been no eating utensils brought to the table, STILL NO OFFICIAL GREETING or a concern for what we would be having as our beverage of choice. It was a little passed 6:00pm and we decided to leave as the experience to this point was not pleasant to say the least. As we were walking out, we asked to speak to a manager. We were greeted by the “host” who did not seem enthused to talk with ANY customer, much less one that was about to complain about the restaurant she represents. continued in next post.
