Review content:
When our 1996 Honda Passport started having major problems we took our car to another local car repair shop. When they had exhausted their efforts they told us to go to Allen Honda Service Center. When I arrived at the service department, their staff was very rude and talked down to me, like I was not intelligent enough to understand what they were saying. They informed me that both the computer and transmission needed to be replaced and they wanted over $6000 for the repairs. We found this to be very strange that both could be out. We talked to another Honda service center out of town and they agreed that they both couldn't be out. They told us that the parts are solid and it would be strange for either to be out, much less both. When I called Allen Honda to tell them this and ask if they could run ore tests, they were very rude and just dismissed me and my concerns. We paid them for the diagnosis, but felt cheated for we didn't feel like we knew anything more than when we had taken the car to them. We then took the car to another car repair shop and they replaced the computer for us. We found out there was nothing wrong with our computer, just like we thought. When we called Honda and told them their service center had given us a bad diagnosis and now we were out almost $300, they again were very rude to us and said since we didn't have it replaced at their center we were just out the money. I said if I had it done there you would have charged me over $1000 and then you would not have told me that my computer was fine. He did not dispute this fact, but also was not willing to help us out at all. We found out the only thing wrong with our car was 2 little pieces on the transmission that were less than $300 total to fix. I highly discourage anyone from using Allen Honda in any manner, and I for one will never set foot in there again for service or to buy a car. Up until this happened I planned on sticking with Hondas, from all the wonderful things I had heard. However, I personally will never buy another Honda in any form or fashion.
