The Melting Pot is a great date night restaurant. With the "dinner for two" from the menu, you get the choice of a cheese fondue, a salad, and a entree fondue. For the cheese course - I highly recommend the Wisconsin Cheese Fondue! It is excellent with the bread or the apples - I personally would skip the veggies. Even though it is very yummy - don't fill up yet - this is only the beginning! For salad - my favorite is the Calafornia Salad - the dressing is the best raspberry vinegrette I have ever had! For the entree fondue - this can be a bit confusing because you have to select the cooking style and the meat selection. We had the signature selection of meat because I am not a fan of duck and my husband really wanted some salmon. I am sure all the meat selections are yummy. For cooking style - I recommend the Mojo or Court Boullion. I personally didn't like the Coq Au Vin - but if you like red wines - you may want to give it a try. If you don't want to spend the cash to go all out - then just go out for the dessert. The best one (in my opinion) is the chocolate and marshmallow! My husband's favorite is the white chocolate and ameretto. Both are worth the drive downtown! Here is a tip - go to their website and sign up for "Club Fondue" and you will be sent a coupon for a free dessert fondue. This is a great place to spend some quality time with a loved one. Ask for the booth with the curtain by kitchen - it is very intimate! Another tip - plan to be there for 1 or more (probably more like 2 hours) since you are doing the cooking right at the table. It isn't cheap - but it is well worth it for a special occasion! Check out the full menu online at www.meltingpot.com.
