I have two Walgreen stores in my area and neither are worth squat. Walgreen puts out a rebate that is good for a whole month. One is store number 5686 and the other is store number 6396. The store that I have had my recent problem is store on Martin Blvd in Baltimore Maryland. I sent my mom last Saturday to the store because I have asthma and can't get out of the house when the weather is real hot and humid. My mom could not get the curaheat that was on sale and had a rebate on it that made it free. She had to wait a good ten minutes for a manager to come up and write the rain check for her. This is not a good system that after you are done shopping you get to stand around and wait for a rain check at the managers convenience. On this particular day the manager made comments to my mother who is 61 years old with a hearing problem that were not appropriate. He told her that they would be out since it was the last day of the sale and she should come in earlier if she expected to get the product. He was also not going to write the rain check saying the rebate was over and since they did not have the product she was out of luck. This however, was only the second week of the rebate to point a fact. She did get the rain checks but she was upset when she left. This is another example of poor customer service. Walgreen's feels that they are making so much money that they do not have to have good customer service. These stores are not coupon oriented nor are they rebate oriented. The worse part of this is it is their own company that is putting out this rebate. They don't want to take coupons no matter what they are. They try to find something wrong with each coupon you give then. If you write the company they say one thing and the store says another. They all of a sudden you get an email from the company saying the store has the last word on coupons and such. Walgreen's does have good sales when you mix them with the rebate. I however, only go to buy what is free after rebate there. When I need to buy something that I don't have coupons on or there is no rebate on I go to Riteaid. I have a stack of rain checks that this company has never gotten in or they just don't order because they are free after rebate and they just don't want to sell them at that moment in time. They also do not make good on any product that was free after rebate if you have a rain check that was never filled. I hope that this review will let people know that this store is very poor in customer service and in having the stock in the store. This store is not coupon friendly, rebate friendly or customer friendly. I recommend that you watch the rebates and only get the rebate items and nothing else. Go to another store that is friendly to spend your money. My opinion try Riteaid.
