Contemplative nuns support themselves in a variety of ways, and along with the traditional altar bread work (supplying churches with communion wafers), the Poor Clares of Brenham, Texas express their creativity through ceramics and other arts and crafts sold in their Art Barn, and their (Franciscan) love and care of creation in their work with the miniature horses. Miniature Horse FarmTour Info The monastery opens its grounds to visitors Tues. - Sat. from 1:30 - 4:00 pm. We ask that you respect our privacy for work and prayer at other times. Self-guided Tours of the horses, Art Barn, and Monastery Chapel year-round for families, individuals, and other small groups. Admission: $3 adults; $1 children 3-12. Guided Tours are given Monday through Friday by reservation only, for groups of 15 or more adults, or a minimum fee of $75. The fee is $5 per person, and the tour lasts approximately one hour. There is a picnic area for our visitors, as well as restroom facilities, and soda and snack vending machines. Bottled water is for sale in the Art Barn Gift Shop and sno-cones are for sale seasonally.. ATTENTION - HOURS AND FEES !!
