I have used paypal for about 3+ years now and do like it.I haven't had any problems with it, although I have heard afew horror stories. Basically it i as an online payment site. You sign up for an account, there are 2 kinds:personal and proffesional. You link your email address to your bank info through them. Personal accounts are free and you can use it to pay and recieve payments using your bank account. Proffessional allows you to accept credit cards- the fee here is small and per transaction, like 2% or something like that. When you pay someone, it takes it out of your account that you specify and sends it to the persons email account and vise versa when they pay you. To retrieve your money you log into your account with your email address and request payment. The biggest problems are phishers and bad sellers. For phishers you need to never click any email links requesting information. ALWAYS go directly to the site [ebay or paypal] andlog into your account that way and check any messages for you. There are people outthere who would loooove to convince you to click their links and enter your passwords so they can steal your financial info. No problem as long as you stay alert. Theother is badsellers on ebay-- for that pay attention to feedback scores to assess their trustability. Paypal will refund money sometimes if you are cheated, but its best to avoid the situation.
