The Jazz Brunch on Sundays takes its name from the live music, which is in itself a point of distinction. Beyond that, you can really break out of your rut and have your eggs with salmon or smoked pork. The rolling omelet station is the absolute coolest- they cook the custom omelets table-side.
The buffet includes collards, cornbread, fried chicken and this Sunday they even had old fashioned mac and cheese along with the traditional breakfast components such as grits, eggs, hash browns, pancakes and waffles.
My personal favorite this week (because I visit every Sunday) was the 8 piece petite chicken and waffles. The Freshly prepared blueberry waffle was joined with eight pieces of fried Cornish game hen. This pairing seemed strange at first; however, after the first portion I was reminded why the Sugar Shack is the #1 southern specialist. Oh yeah and the homemade vanilla maple syrup reminded me of my days of living in West Virginia on the family farm.
One of the best components of the brunch is the price. The brunch can be ordered for as little as $11. Any brunch that includes custom ice sculptors, live saute stations and live music for as little as $11 is a winner. The only down side to the brunch is the enormous crowd, so please arrive early or make reservations! Reservations are a must to avoid waiting over an hour for a table!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a great after church destination It is convenient to Lakewood Church, Higher Dimension and Windsor Village.
PS: I heard pastors eat free Monday-Friday (What a noble gesture, so surely the shack deserves our support).
Pros: Great Price, Great Food, Great Gospel Jazz
Cons: The Large Crowd
