Businiess name:  Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar
Review by:  Sara A.
Review content:
All the Alamo Drafthouse location have their own personality. When the Lamar location was being built, we "South Folk" couldn't wait to see what this one would be like. When it opened, it was no disappointment. They have just as many special events as their downtown or North locations and their staff is just as attentive. My only (and very minor) complaint about the Lamar location is that it needs more waiting seats outside. Some shows get so full that you need to be there at least an hour early to get a good seat. However, with no seats in sight, it can be a pain to sit on the floor. However, that's a very minor deal once you get inside. The food is outstanding in this location. Always fast and warm, I've always opted for the dinner & movie combo when I go to the Alamo. Their burgers are juicy and quite good. They're definitely in my top 5 for Austin. And where else can you get a beer while watching your movie? I mean, other than home. If you've got the choice between Alamo Drafthouse and your regular multi-plex, PLEASE choose Alamo. You'll get a far better experience, better food (who needs $7 popcorn?) and can support a locally owned business.
