In Chicago, we can all get a little testy and defensive over our special hang outs (especially when it comes to pizza or Italian beef sandwiches). Well, let me sing, very loudly I might add, the praises of wonderful Mr. Beef. IMO, this is one of the best, if not THE best place in the city for beef sandwiches. I like to order the beef by the pound for family events because it ends up being a much better deal cost wise. They give you beef with the gravy and spices in a separate container so you can decide just how spicy or mild you want your meat to be. It's tender, very lean and delicious! The restaurant is also really cute inside, with cool rock tunes blaring on the stereo and a 50's/60's retro theme in the dining area.
