I used Prodigy Movers this past weekend. I had a small move, only a Studio apartment, so I wanted to use a company that had a 2-3 hour minimum. I received several quotes, and went with Prodigy because their Customer Service Staff was very pleasant, informative and helpful, and they had a 3 hour minimum. Based on the Customer Service over the phone, I was anticipating a seamless move. I had been given a timeframe of 12 - 5, and they arrived at 2:00. However, when the foreman came to my door, he was smoking a cigarette - very unprofessional. My apartment is on the 3rd floor, and thus I know this makes it a more challenging job, but this is what the guys are paid for. Well, they complained the entire time, which made me very uncomfortable - moving is disruptive in and of itself, and when you are paying for a service you would expect a better attitude. The guys also bickered with each other the whole time, as the foreman was constantly on his cell phone with personal calls. Another complaint is that they used tape to secure padding around my furniture, and left the empty contents on my floor. Finally, when they were finished, they asked for gratuity, which I always give, but have never before been asked for. And when I signed the final paperwork, the foreman was once again smoking while going over it with me. I would not recommend Prodigy to anyone. In the past I have used My American Movers, and would have used them this time except they had a 4 hour minimum. This was a huge mistake, I will definitely be using them for all my future moving needs as they are extremely professional and took the job very seriously, making the entire moving experience a positive one.
