Building Dreams – Mine is a Nightmare MY ROTELLE BUILT HOUSE IS ROTTING FROM WITHIN Rotelle Builders built my home in 2005. The entire house has to have the stucco removed due to poor craftsmanship and oversight by Rotelle. The remediation is going to cost over $100,000. I met with the Chief operating officer as The President, Peter Rotelle would not talk to me even after I walked in, dropped off letter and multiple emails. I was told by the CFO that the house was built to specifications and codes. When I questioned why my house and my Neighbors house do not have a weep screed, which is required on a stucco house and gives water a place to drain instead of having the water that has penetrated the building envelope to sit there, grow mold and rot the framing and sheathing of the house, he responded that it is up to the township to make sure the house is built properly. That is a WOW! The house cost $550,000 and it is up to the township to have your house built properly. The house also has substandard flashing and no caulking around the windows to stop water penetration. When I questioned him after I was told they had no responsibility I was thrown out of his office when I mentioned I researched that question by interviewing moisture testing companies, remediation contractors and a paralegal and he was wrong. I would not recommend anyone to work with Rotelle builders all they are interested in is making a quick buck and having the township make sure their homes are built properly. Maybe I am wrong but I thought that was why you hire a builder, to build the house correctly. Rotelle probably will respond to this review and surely pass the responsibility of making sure a house is built properly on someone else. In my opinion the house should not need $100,000 after 13 years. I have all reports and estimates to support this review. I do not wish this on anyone! ROTELLE HOMES BUILT TO LAST A LIFETIME OR 13 YEARS WHICHEVER COMES FIRST BUYER BEWARE!!
