Review content:
As I read the reviews for Shane's I see an overwhelming number of 5 star reviews. There has to be a good reason for this. I also read a few who gave less than favorable reviews which saddens me as I think that most of those are because of some misunderstanding.
I hope Terrance will read this review as it puzzles me that you seem to be unaware that tranny and clutch work has nothing to do with any fluids in the motor. Another thing that concerns me is how you could find fault with the repair shop when your fluid levels no doubt were probably low when the shop got the car. If you drove your car home from the shop and it was so low on fluid that the engine threw a rod through the block then you should have known something was terribly wrong BEFORE you got out of the shop driveway. It sounds to me like you already had engine problems and your car lost a rod about the time that it would have lost it even if you had not taken it to a shop. You ask who is responsible to check the fluids in your car ??? Well, your mechanic might check the fluids for you as a courtesy BUT it is YOUR responsibility to check those fluids regularly. That is your job as an owner!! I am sorry that you have chosen not to use Shane's as I know from experience that it is a good shop. This is a family owned shop and they do their best.
I read comments like the price is too high but I say take your car to a dealership and see what they charge. I will be at least one and a half times higher for shop labor and there is the probability that they will not fix your car on the first or second and maybe the third and forth visit. AND they will not even think of refunding the expenses you have paid for the things they did fix that didn't need to be fixed. As for me I think they have been fair with me every time I take my vehicles in for repair and I take all four of my vehicles to them. We all know that there is not even one person or shop that is perfect so I challenge you all to find a shop that has so many good reviews and if you look at the bad ones close enough I think you will find that most of them are just misunderstandings of some kind. If that happens to anyone just ask to talk to Shane so all that will be clarified.
Shane's Auto Repair goes the extra mile to be sure to fix your car correctly and treat each customer like we want them to. I support them and stand by them because I have seen them in action and have received their good service myself. I highly recommend this shop.
