Businiess name:  DFW Pug Rescue

Review content:
While the purpose of this rescue is admirable, the people behind it (volunteers) are wicked, horrible people. I went through the application process and was approved. They found a pug they thought "would be perfect" for me. Red flag #1) I was asked to pay my adoption fee before even seeing this dog. Red flag #2) This pug hadn't been fostered and was an owner surrender, so they knew absolutely nothing about him. How could they know he'd be perfect for me? Red flag #3) After meeting this poor pug, it was blatantly obvious he was as wild as a Tasmanian Devil. I knew immediately he wasn't for me but was scolded for judging him and was told he would calm down. "Give him a chance to have a life", they said. Unfair. Red flag #4) He did NOT calm down, but instead got wilder. When I contacted the Rescue, they said "give him some time". Red flag #5) He was a sick little guy. I spent over $1000 on vet bills within two months of his adoption. He was getting an ear infection every other week. I was told he was in perfect health when I adopted him, and he actually had a current ear infection at that time. Red flag #6) After he destroyed my house, yard, bank account, and overall my life, I contacted the Rescue to send him back. They were very critical, unfeeling, and just plain rude about the situation. I was told to fill out a surrender form. Unfair. When I tried to explain the heartache that all this had caused, I became emotional and started to cry. I was cut off mid sentence and told to "Settle! Settle!". Multiple attempts to share my feelings were shut down and dismissed. I was also told that if I gave this dog up, I wouldn't get my adoption fee back because it was a donation. I spent my own money on excessive vet bills for a dog I didn't really want in the first place... bills the Rescue would have had to pay, had I not adopted him. So in essence I saved them a small fortune. "We can get you another pug", they said. All they are interested in is $.
