Review content:
My partner and I came here in tears with our beloved 14 year old cat on his deathbed. His health had been failing, and expensive treatments could no longer keep him alive. Not being able to bear seeing him suffer any longer, we brought him to the hospital expecting him to be put humanely to sleep. Instead, they gave us a $500 estimate (for starters) on his treatment. It was obvious to us, knowing and loving him so much, that he was no longer even the same cat, and that his life was at the end. But we listened and went home with a large series of medicines and daily injections. After ariving home, we could see that he was getting worse and could not even take the medicines, or eat or drink. We waited a few hours, to see if he improved. All he could do was cry and stumble around the house from one place to another, and then lie there with his eyes staring and cloudy. I called the clinic back, and told them what was happening. They insisted on hospitalization at a minimun cost of $800, and ignored by plea to have him put down. It was too much to take, so we called our old vet in Silverlake and drove an hour in rush hour traffic to have him put to sleep. He died in my partner's arms on the way. Neither of us had ever experienced such a heart wrenching experience in our lives. There was no reason other than greed to put our sweet companion or us through so much pain. Pros: kind of close to my house Cons: cruel and greedy
