First, Chris is an excellent seller and really just a great guy. He gave me an instant personalized order confirmation and shipped my order of the VH 24AWG Airlock Unicrystal Silver wire almost immediately. My order got here almost the next day and was packaged incredibly well (the wire came in a large clear plastic bag that was inside a large and sturdy cardboard box which was well-cushioned inside, so nothing moved around. It seems Chris' attention to detail is second to none.
The silver wire itself is just incredible. I used it for internal signal wiring on the output coupling stage of my NOS DAC. Let's just say that compared to the Duelund silver foil wire I used and ordered before from Parts-Connexion (both the 1.0 and the 2.0, and versions 1 and 2), the Airlok was able to create a greater sense of space, detail and transparency (no kidding!). Like the Duelunds, it is also extremely smooth (never harsh) despite being a silver wire. The Duelunds are covered in silk impregnated with oil which smooths out the top a little more (and maybe contributes to a slightly closed in feel), but it also hides some of the inner details and makes images rounder. I also have the VH-Audio V-Cap CuTFs and have used these in a number of projects, and I believe this Airlok Silver Wire provides that same level of sheer musicality and transparency as those legendary caps. I highly recommend the VH-Audio Airlok Unicrystal silver wire, as well as doing business with Chris, who is a consummate professional and great person. Five stars all around.
