The eye and ear specialist was EXCELLENT and very tuned in to my dog. Also his treatment was excellent at think his ne was. dr. Kaye but I am not sure.
The problem was with the vet tech. I do not remember her name. She did not interact with my dog at all.
My dog is a very friendly Bernese Mt. dog. I am a
Probation Officer. My dog comes with me on the road when I visit probationers just released from prison. They are usually very nervous at the first visit. What's dog does is reach out to these people by being friendly and trying to engage them in a relationship. He initially does this by sitting and offering his paw and wagging his tale . I have been bring dogs on the jobs for years. The program has been such a big success that often probationers want to meet the dogs. Once even Angell asked me to give a talk but I could not for confidentiality reasons
Anyway, when the Vet tech ce out to take the initial info for the visit,y dog sat in front of her, and offered his paw. The tech did not even acknowledge him. The dog tries again to offer his paw. The vet tech ignored him again and kept writing. I explained to her about his job and why he wanted to shake hands with her she just kept asking asking me questions and writing and did not even acknowledge what I had just told her. The dog tried once more to make a relationship by wagging his tail and started to extend his paw.
He stopped In mid-air when the tech said in. A loud, irritated voice, "how obnoxious!"
Then the dog came and lay at my side until the vet came in the room.
It was the tech who was obnoxious, not the dog!'
I have been coming to Angell for almost ten years.
This is the very first time I have met a tech who did not greet a dog, did not interact with him, and reacted by calling the dog "obnoxious" even after I explained that the reason the dog was trying to strike up a relationship with her because that is what he was trained to do.
