This is a copy of the email I sent to OOPS this morning! My saga is ongoing and it won't go unresolved. I'll let you know the outcome....I can't figure out how to add pictures to this post or I'd show you the mess they left behind as proof....\r
\r
Attached to this email you will find several pictures that show the lack of workmanship I received when two of your technicians came to my home to stretch and clean two rooms and a hallway on Oct 26, 2013. I made my appointment many weeks in advance for a Saturday morning because I didn’t want to miss any work. When I made the appointment, I specifically told the operator that we installed new cabinetry so tack strip would be needed along one wall. I was told that was not a problem. \r
\r
When the two technicians arrived I was quoted a price of 422.00 and they got to work, I pay them, and tipped them 20.00 each. Before they left I made the huge mistake of just lightly glancing into each room because the carpet was wet. I trusted that by using a reputable company, that advertised as often as Oops Steam Cleaning does on 740 AM radio, I’d get a good finished product. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Not only did they not bring tack strip, or run to get some, they didn’t re-attach the carpets properly, didn’t stretch it enough to remove buckles, they cut more than they should have which left concrete exposed in many areas. The carpet doesn’t even touch the baseboards in areas all around one of the rooms anymore. Then to top it off they throw the discarded carpet and padding into a guest bathroom, instead of taking it away.\r
\r
That wasn’t the end of this nightmare. I called the office, obviously very distressed, and told the operator about the horrible mess they left. She told me I would get a call from the Route Manager or that she would personally call me back. No call ever came. Three hours later, I call AGAIN and do finally get a call back from the Route Manager. I am told he is on vacation and it would be Tuesday before they could send someone out. Obviously upset, I explained it would mean a loss of work for me. He told me he’d try to locate someone to come out. A few minutes later he calls me again and said he was able to find another technician to come out that day. The problem is that he didn’t tell him to bring tack strip! This third technician comes out and actually did a decent job of re-attaching my carpet in one room so I could at least put it back together again. He glued and patched the gaping hole at the entry to the bathroom (there is still a visible seam however) and he says that the next people that come out will bring the tack strip and finish stretching the room and hallway. \r
\r
I still see areas that the carpet no longer touches the baseboard, lose carpet is still buckled in the hallway, the seam to the bathroom is noticeable, the carpet lifts at the edged when I vacuum, and of course a full wall is still left without tack strip, but best of all I STILL have to take time off work to get this job done. \r
\r
.....I'll let you know after they come for the third time if the outcome is good or bad. I'm praying for the best. But after the TOTAL lack of communication on their part thus far, I'm not holding my breath.
