Review content:
Well, the evening started out great. Myself and a couple girls from work bought a bottle and a deck of cards and headed on over to the poodle dog lounge. The jukebox was amazing...digital...and had all different types of music. Considering all different types of music was available, I assumed all different types of music was acceptable to play. We sat there for several hours; some songs we liked, some songs we didn't but we were having a good time playing cards and socializing. We decided to play some tunes...a few hip-hop, a few country, a few rock etc...When snoop-dogg's "gin and juice" came on (a classic bar song) the table behind us came unglued. There were about 8 of them, 4 guys (middle age), and 4 women (early 30's), and they started making racial remarks...ie who played the coon music?, the "n" word flew around several times, one drunken toothless man even thought it would be hilarious to dance around like a monkey. I am white, and so is one of the other girls I was with, and the other girl is hispanic. Myself and the other white girl are married to black men, and the hispanic girl is married to a hispanic man. We are very diverse in the music we listen too, and the people we associate with as friends. The whole bar was involved in the "coon music" discussion, and I would have loved to knock the last few teeth out of the mouths of the 8 people behind us, but decided it would be best to just leave. We will never ever ever be back in there and if you have class, and all of your teeth i suggest you don't either.
P.S. if you are associated with the poodle dog...why would you make music available in your jukebox that you don't really want played?
Pros: able to bring in your own bottle
Cons: have to listen to racial remarks from ignorant "regulars"
