BUYERS BEWARE: Spight Automotive is a complete scam! I used this company to repair a transmission on one of out company vehicles. I met a gentleman named Joy who worked for Spight that came out to inspect the vehicle and he informed me that the transmission was needing a rebuild. Joy told me that he would get with his boss(Phillip-business owner) to find a place where they would have the transmission rebuild done.\r \r Two days later Joy calls me telling me that the rebuild was $3000.00 but the transmission shop would take $2500.00. I said that was fine considering the fact that I needed the truck back on the road that week! Soon after the rebuild was finished by Carters Transmission shop Joy called me to inform me that I needed to go to the shop and make payment on the unit. I went down and paid Carters and at that point Phillip the owner of Spight Auto went by and picked up transmission after debating with me about who was going to pick it up and deliver it to my shop to have it installed.(Which is ludicrious considering he is the one doing the job. Why should I do work Im paying them for?) \r \r Anyhow the following day the transmission was dropped off at my shop where Joy the mechanic assigned to my call, improperly installed the transmission incorrect and broke both the pump on the unit as well as the brand new converter that it came with. I then spoke with Joy on what we needed to do to resolve the issue and he stated that he would need to speak with his boss(Phillip). \r \r After both his mechanic (Joy) and I spoke with Phillip about the issue he informed me that it was the transmission shops mistake. Which I hardly believe seeing that 3 different mechanics as well as another transmissions shop informed me that from the details I had given him on the install that it was done incorrectly which caused the pump to break. The transmission shop owner informed me that he originally spoke with Joy from Spight Automotive told him that when he brought the transmission to them that the converter should have been attached to it. (Which I know that myself being that I own 5 of these trucks for 10 years). Both Joy and Phillip argued the fact that it can be done a different way. (Which it can't, hence this 1 STAR REVIEW Im writing). I even have 2 mechanics willing to testify on my behalf :stating Spight Auto is liable because they damaged the unit.\r \r So after going back and forth with the business owner and him threatening me and calling me a con artist and liar, his mechanic (Joy) that worked on my truck ended up refunding me $500.00 in cash which I have proof of even though Phillip doubts me. I am thankful for honest men like Joy but wish him the best of luck working for this lying thief of a boss who thinks he knows a thing or two about running a business. \r \r Even with the refund of $500.00 it was still not enough to cover the fix on the transmission or the cost I accrued renting a truck and turning down work because of the damage. I spoke back with Phillip yesterday and he informed me that he was not willing to pay the remaining $300 some odd dollars for the transmission fix which I think is only fair! So at this point I notified his office that I will be filing with the BBB as well as the Attorney Generals Office here in Austin TX as well as filing with the court system with all the documentation and witnesses I have to get my money back. \r \r Phillips response to me when I informed him of this is to F*** off and that he will write negative reviews and slander me and my company if I wrote the true facts about dealing with his business. \r \r BUYERS BEWARE: Check Spight Automotive out on YELP,ANGIES LIST, CITY SEARCH, & YELLOW PAGES before you hire them. My review is not the only one that will have a 1 STAR REVIEW beside it.\r
