Malik is an attorney and a doctor who ardently pursued my mother's case against DePuy regarding her failed hip implant and now, many months later, just days before the Texas statute of limitation ran out, he dropped mom's case without warning. There is something here that needs to be investigated.\r

My mother is a victim of a DePuy hip implant failure. I tried to get DePuy to compensate mom but they refused. \r

Beginning August 2012 I started a search for an attorney. A Seattle law firm informed me that Malik's law firm handles these DePuy cases.\r

To make a long story short, mom signed on with Malik. Many months later after the contract was signed and emails and paper work transpired, he sent an email (June 27, 2013) saying he was dropping mom's case. “Our law firm was asked to look into your potential Hip Injury claim. Unfortunately, your claim does not meet our criteria for case acceptance.”\r

This goes well beyond legal malpractice. As an attorney and medical doctor, and having mom's records since Sept 2012, he pursued mom's case. \r

January 10, 2013 his law firm sent this:\r
We would be more that [sic] happy to pursue this case for you and your mother. There is not much work on the client end except for signing some paper work. Also, we are able to fill out any fact sheets over the phone in order to minimize your work as the client. However, this case will probably take approximately 3 years to reach settlement, so you will have to patient. We will do everything in our power to handle the case as quickly as possible.\r

And January 23, 2013 this:\r
We have all the records and can see that this is a good case and we would like to take care of it for you as best we can. Please let me know if this helps. I just want to make sure that you know your mother will still receive a settlement and she won't have to turn all of the money over to the insurance company. Thanks and I look forward to hearing back from you!\r
