Review content:
I've been patronizing Alicia's salon for 10 years, but I must say I'm growing weary of the constant ups and downs I have seen there. My stylist is AMAZING and I don't want to leave her, but it seems like every time I go to Alicia's the price for a haircut has gone up, again. I get great service from my personal stylist and from those that I know from going there over the years, but I'm not ususally impressed with the front desk staff. Greetings are sporadically present, depending on who is at the desk. I have been scheduled for a specific time only to show up and find out that, supposedly, my appointment was a half hour later. Seems a little strange to me. If someone messed up, I just wish they would be honest and apologize. I'm not difficult to get along with. \r \r I have also seen that children are not especially welcome in the salon, even if they are paying customers. Alicia herself has made comments to my children when they weren't misbehaving...just doing what kids do when mommy is getting a haircut. \r \r Alicia has very skilled stylists working for her and she is great about hosting fundraisers and other community events. She is generous about making donations to various causes and seems to have a good relationship with her employees. I have watched several apprentices become licensed stylists because of the opportunity given to them at Alicia's.\r \r I continue to go there because I have mixed feelings and wonder if anywhere else would be problem-free. Most likely not. My sisters, mom, and many of my friends have tried Alicia's because of my recommendations over time. These days, I find myself recommending a specific stylist and not necessarily the salon as a whole. It defeats the purpose, though, because you can love a stylist and be so turned off by a business that you aren't comfortable sending friends and loved ones there. Pros: beautiful salon, skilled stylists Cons: not kid-friendly, expensive
