Review content:
Sometimes it's hard to find great sushi at a reasonable price in NYC. Mizu has always delivered. The hostess, sushi chefs, wait staff, and owner have always been up for keeping it special and/or fun for the occasion (we've done sake bombs with the owner to celebrate birthdays - 8 people!). Though the place is small and central (right by union sq) which means on weekend nights it gets crowded. The Agedashi Tofu is one of my favorite dishes and they make it beautifully and serve it perfect. I don't often get cooked food, normally rolls and sashimi, so I can't comment, but I can't imagine it being any different in terms of quality from their sushi. My favorite special rolls that they offer are Naruto, Crystal, and Yuki rolls. But every type of roll I've had in the 4 years I've been there has always been good. A couple things to keep in mind about the atmosphere, it's not a quiet restaurant. I think it has to do with the wood decor. In the winter since there isn't much standing room and people waiting crowd by the door, the tables by the door get a bit breezy. But during the summer, they keep it very well A/C'd. I love going to this place for Japanese food.
Pros: food, service, value
Cons: can be noisy, popular so crowded can be a wait
