It is Thursday ,November 12th 2009 and i just got home from the Bristol County Medical Ctr, and once i walked out that door i was in tears for the way i was treated, or should i say ""not treated""!! . It began with the nurse saying ""oh you have done this before. The last time i visted this medical center was 1 yr ago after i was in a car accident. Since then i have been diagnosed with 2 herniated and 1 disk tear. My cervical 2-3, thoracic 5-6, and the tear is l-5-s-1. Arthritis in my thoracic, djd dz, and spondylosis. Ive been in rehabilitation for this problems. I injured my back 2 days ago, unlike what is already going on. I was on the bike path in Barrington with my daughter, which was in an elmo walker. I saw a biker coming fast so i quickly turned bent over and quickly picked her up. As soon as i did i heard and felt something in my lower lumbar rip, or something for 2 days i have been in serious pain. I was trying ice , and anti-immflamatories, but it is getting worse as time goes on. On a scale of 1-10 the discomfort is a 9. Dr Howard Perrone came in the room never examined my injury, did no vitals. I explained what happened the past year and his response was welll i can give you flexerall. He said "" is that good enough"" immediatly the way he said it was as if i was a drug addict lookung for drugs. I was shocked, and horrified. He wrote the prescription for a muscle relaxer without even examing me, and walked out. I nicley asked the nurse when was the last time i was seen here and for what. She replied ""Oh a while, a year ago, 1 week after you were in the car accident"". I walked out and broke down in tears, because i was painful, and the way he looked and spoke to me. A YEAR! i Felt dirty. Im now going to RI hospital, because unfortunatly this state has a HIGH ratefor drug abusers and seekers. It's not right to ASSUME that with a patient that has legitmate chronic back problems. Pros: its in BRISTOL Cons: The inconsiderate DR'S
