Review content:
A few days ago, my 4 month old lg breed puppy became ill - throwing up and lethargic, which just wasnt her. So, after the condition persisted for another day, we took her into the closest vet - Healthy Paws. Well, after ordering a test that was unnecessary (parvo - she has been fully vaccinated, and does not interact with other dogs) and a full round of x-rays (those cost almost $200 btw - for only2!) , they still couldnt tell me what was wrong with her! They even did bloodwork that came back fine!! The best they could tell me was to bring her back the next day, for another office visit fee, and more x-rays. \r The next day, they called me to let me know that she either needs to come in for more treatment and tests, or she would likely die - and then proceeded to quote me an outlandish price for one days worth of treatments. ($600 - for 1 day!!) Obviously this freaked me out, but I was able to keep a level head, and shop around for another vet - after first asking them to send me copies of her records. By this point, the puppy was even worse, however, I ended up taking her in for treatment elsewhere, that not only was cheaper, and friendlier, but also were shocked when they saw the diagnosis - said it was completely wrong, and she will be fine after fluids and antibiotics are given. \r So... needless to say, I will no longer be giving the closest vet in town my business. My new vet is in Garland - a bit of a drive, but worth it for the service i recieved, and the cost. They seem to truly care about the animals out there, not the bottom line. Pros: location Cons: price and attitude
