I have lived in nashville for 14 years and the first (and only) time i stayed at the Opryland Hotel it was my Honeymoon night and i have to say it was a horrible experience! We arrived around 2 am and when we got to our room we realized that our ""suite"" did not have a bed in it. We called down to the front desk and they kindly informed us that the bed pulls down from the wall. The so called murphy bed was a piece of plywood with a 2 inch thick mattress on it. Not only was the bed crappy but there werent even sheets on the mattress! We once again called the front desk and they sent up a maid that basically asked us to look and see if there were sheets in the closet so we could make our own bed! Remember, its our honeymoon night- i'm still in my wedding gown and they want me to make the bed that i payed 410 dollars to sleep in!! The water for the shower took about 10 minutes to get hot, which was okay because it took 30 minutes for our room service (sandwiches) to arrive. After my honeymoon night at Opryland i can honestly say that i will never stay at any Gaylord hotel again and i would not recommend it to ANYONE! Pros: gorgeous atrium and gardens Cons: overpriced rooms, rude service staff, outdated furnishings
