I have to say that I am flabergasted towards a customers that has no to what just happened to him and also the shop that truely went the extra for him and his car. THIS SITUATION IS A SHOPS NIGHTMARE. THE CUSTOMER DID BRING HIS CAR IN FOR A WATER PUMP. HE SUPPLIED THE PARTS. BUT THIS WAS A TIMING BELT DRIVEN WATER PUMP SO WE SUGGESTED THAT WE REPLACE THE TIMING BELT W/A NEW ONE WHILE WE WERE INVOLVED WITH THE REPAIR. WE INSTALLED A GATES TIMING KIT. WHICH INCLUDES A BELT, TENSIONER, & OTHER PULLIES THAT INVOLVE THE TIMING BELT. WHERE THE PROBLEM COMES IN IS THAT THE NEW TENSIONER CAME W/A NEW BOLT, THAT BOLTED IT TO THE BLOCK. THIS BOLT BROKE WHILE THE CUSTOMER WAS GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT HIGHWAY SPEED. THIS ENG IS A INTERFERANCE ENG, WHICH MEANS THAT THE VALVES WILL MAKE CONTACT W/THE PISTONS IF IT COMES OUT OF TIME. EVERY VALVE IN THE ENG WAS BENT IMEDIATLY. NOT TO GO INTO A VERY LONG WRENCHING ORDEAL. OUR SHOP,OUT OF ITS OWN POCKET PAID OVER 3000.00$ TO REPAIR THIS CUSTOMERS CAR
