Review content:
The salesman (Bob) spent a good deal of time helping us pick out the perfect refrigerator. We chose it, paid for it, and made arrangements for it to be delivered about a week and a half later. The day before it was to arrive, DVD called to say it wouldn't be delivered because that model had been discontinued. (Odd that it took over a week to discover that bit of news, right?) Bob suggested another fridge, and I liked it. It was on back order, so I waited two or three more weeks. When it came in, DVD was quick to deliver it, which I appreciated. The fridge must have had a rough journey because it arrived in worse condition than I expected. Besides a small dent that I was informed of, there are a couple of scratches/scuff marks on each door. On the bright side, the fridge is black, so the marks aren't glaringly obvious. RESPONSE FROM Dick Van Dyke Appliance World: I am very sorry for the trouble you had in getting your refrigerator. I spoke with Bob and he informed me you were looking for a refrigerator, which we did not display on the floor. Bob located a model, which met the particular features you were looking for through the manufacturer's website. After agreeing on the model and making the purchase, the refrigerator was ordered from the manufacturer and we were expecting it to arrive as normal. When it did not, we discovered it had been removed by the manufacturer after we placed the order and was now listed as a discontinued model. We unfortunately were not made aware that it had been removed from the order and only discovered this after it did not arrive. Bob quickly contacted you about the delay with this order after he learned the refrigerator was not available. Bob fortunately located another model from a different manufacture and quickly learned from the manufacturer, the refrigerator was on a 2-3week backorder. Bob offered a refrigerator for you to use at no cost until the model you were ordering became available. You kindly declined and decided to wait for the new model to arrive. We then delivered the refrigerator shortly after it arrived. About the damage, I spoke with Bob and he was unaware of damage to the refrigerator. I would be happy to see what can be about the scuff marks on the refrigerator if you like. Please contact me directly at 217-398-7867 ext# 8702 Sincerely, Darrell Haslett Champaign Sales Manger
