Review content:
I used to be a regular at Sushi Sake a few years back. The manager was kind of weird and the service was spotty, but I put that aside because of the great sushi they had (also take into account there were limited choices for sushi about 6 years ago).
I moved to Austin, and came back last year. The service now is just horrible. I guess people found out about Sushi Sake and now the staff thinks they are doing people a favor by serving them sushi. The waitresses are rushed and never smile or look you in the eye, and they barely talk to you. The manager is even ruder than ever. She is pushy and acts like it's a burden to find you a table when you walk in the door. I've even seen her yell at people who were just inquiring about getting a table. She's actually the owner's wife so she apparently doesn't care what you think.
The worst part is, the sushi isn't even as great anymore!! There used to be a really good chef there who I think is still there now, but he is definitely slipping (he is actually getting kind of old now). The other sushi chefs are just okay, but I have found other great sushi places nearby that are cheaper and provide much better service. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone anymore.
