Review content:
We delivered our baby at Seton Central (38th Str) and didn't have a very good experience with the night nurses. They do not seem to understand the benefits of breast milk and will insist on supplementing with formula. They woke us several times throughout the night telling us that the breast milk was not enough for the baby and that we needed to supplement with formula. When we said no, we wanted to breast-feed again, they called the pediatricians telling them that we were not being cooperative. They told us we were endangering our baby by not supplementing. They were mean and uncaring. The doctor came in the next day and apologized for the nurses behavior saying that they have a problem with the night nurses being too ""overzelous"". Another nurse told me that the nursery didn't have room for the baby and said that ""Dad should help out more"". Dad was very insulted and is the most caring dad I know. That nurse was out of line. The list goes on and on. The nurses here are not very good at all. Go to a Birthing Center instead and you will probably have a calmer and more peaceful birth for your baby. Pros: Good neonatal unit. Good facilities. Good intensive care. Cons: Night nurses in neonatal are known for being uncaring and cold.
