Moving out of my rental home in Oro Valley just cost me about $1,750. I broke the lease and was told there would be a $300 lease break fee. My assumption was it was for marketing costs. Like they wouldn't have that at the END of my lease? Anyway there was a $300 fee PLUS a marketing fee of $150. The windows were professionally cleaned December 2012.. Cost me about $45 Nordstrom just had them cleaned AGAIN...knowing I had cleaned them 6 weeks earlier...there cost to me..$120! Carpet and tile cleaning $700. Are you kidding me???? Nope..$700. They charged me $11 to change some burnt out bulbs. To my knowledge non were burnt out. really..bulbs.\r \r I rented from Nordstrom for 36 months..and THIS is how we all were treated..and so YOU too will be treated the same way.\r \r I sold the fridge and some other improvements I made to the owner via Nordstrom..my cost was $700 and I sold them 3 years old for $450. Nordstrom kept the $450 to offset the cost of cleaning and repairs. Repairs?? I lived alone. Non smoker. I fixed up all the walls from nail holes and yet was still charged $100 for ""painting"". Painting what? \r \r It would seem reasonable to me that at some point the owner and agent of the home should take responsibility for cleaning it . What if I had lived in the home 10 years... It would need new carpet and the cabinets would be very worn out. Would that be MY responsibility...no it shouldn't ...but I'm not sure how the law reads in Pima County... Surely SOME wear and tear on a home is NOT the renters fault or cost to fix?\r \r Nordstrom was fine when I was a tenant. I paid my rent on time and after 3 years they kept $1,750 of my money. Shameful behaviour on their part.
