Businiess name:  Katz's Deli & Bar (CLOSED)

Review content:
This deli is the only thing approaching good New York style food in Austin. Certain dishes are very good: pastrami rubin, potato salad, breakfast, shakes, the ""old"" fries, potato chips, the best pickles anywhere. If you stray away from Kosher, forget about it! The New England pot roast sucks and so do the wavy gravy sandwiches; the ""white"" bread is bad. They need to buy good Italian bread, not the soggy WASP-Germanic bread popular in this part of Texas. The staff is usually very friendly and nice to families. Katz is a character and also very charming. Basically, I love the place and take my kids all the time! I just wish they would rethink their ""New England"" stuff, add some garlic and pepper, and dump the lousy white bread! Pros: Kosher quality, service, price Cons: bad white bread, lousy New England mea, no garlic or pepper
