The reason I have labled my "summary" as undecided is because the full services have not been completed as of yet. I not only had body work that needed to be done but I was having mechanical issues as well. I was assured the mechanical issues were taken care of even though I asked to speak with the service technician and he did not come out to review his findings and had the receptionist relay the information. I was assured the mechanical issues were fixed. However when driving away I did not get a block from the shop and the issues instantly appeared again. At least the issues happened close to the shop and not on my way home to Hartford. I had already returned my rental car to Hertz. I was set up with another rental with Enterprise which I will never suggest using to anyone. It was extremely time consuming and they charged my debit card $50 instead of just making an authorization like Hertz. Hertz was much easier to use. Marv's still has my vehicle and is now working with a mechanic shop they use to find out what is wrong which is what I was told they were going to do to begin with. I was told the "code reader" they use is not as detailed as what mechanics use and is why they thought everything was working alright. Two recommendations....One....do not use enterprise...Two....purchase a code reader that will tell you if you should be bringing the car to the mechanics you use and not sending a single mom out with a car that will not run. Hopefully, I will receive another survey once my car is completed as I do not feel I can complete this with an open mind as all the work has not been completed. RESPONSE FROM Marv's Body Shop Inc.: The mechanical issues Michelle refers to were for a reported traction stability control light and check engine light. The damage we repaired was to the driver's side rear door and quarter panel. At the time of the estimate, there was no mention of any issues with any of her warning lights. Obviously, these warning lights were not related to the collision or damage caused from this accident. As a courtesy, we checked the cars computer system with our scan tool while the vehicle was in the shop for repairs. There were no warning lights on when the vehicle arrived at our shop for repairs either. The scan tool showed no warnings, and no history of warnings either. After disconnecting the scan tool, her car was test driven twice, and no lamps came on. After she brought the car back, we brought it to our mechanics shop to have it checked with their diagnostics scanner. Their scanner found that an oxygen sensor was causing the check engine light (which is common, but is not related to the damage from the accident) and found no issues with the traction control from the car's computer. They also test drove the vehicle and have no other indications. Neither Michelle or AAA insurance have been charged anything for this service to date. The rental cars were paid for by the insurance company in both cases. We regret she was unhappy with the free rental cars she was provided to her by the insurance company. Michelle has had no complaints about the actual repair work we completed which was why she brought the car to us in the first place.
