So I visited The Pit again for the second (and most likely last) time and just as the first, I wasn't too impressed. The folks who are raving and ranting must not eat a lot a barbecue. Anyway, coming from a family of pit cooking barbecuers could very well be swaying my opinion on this place. The southern side of my family is from one of those small, everyone knows everyone, pig picking every other day type of towns. It was literally just put on the map about a decade ago and has ONE stop light. So when it comes to true barbecue, I've practically been raised on the stuff, so any barbecue joint needs to really come strong with it, and the Pit just didn't. It's ok...if you don't know any better. Pros: friendly waitstaff Cons: It's more hype than anything
