Review content:
I've tried Tap twice for lunch now (once with a friend, and once with 7 other people), and I have to say, it's two strikes so far. While they do have a great patio (that fills up quickly, I might add) and location (though parking is scarce- park in the deck next to the Promenade II building or somewhere along Crescent), I've yet to be wowed by the service & food.\r \r Following a ""helpful"" stranger's glowing recommendation of the burger, I tried it out. What I got was a mediocre, bland tasting patty, sandwiched between two plank-like pieces of English muffin. It was fortunate that they provided a steak knife with the burger, as I literally had to saw through the muffin in order to make any progress. Every time I took a bite, I was ripping chunks of the sandwich out (not pretty). The abundance of crispy, greasy, shoestring fries that they provided weren't enough to redeem this dish. In short, skip it.\r \r The second time I went (with the group), we were promptly seated, but spent 10-15 minutes waiting for a server to come by with our drinks. I tried out the pork sandwich, and found it to be better than the burger, but still just ""ok."" The fact that it was served cold didn't exactly help the taste. Service was slow, and at least one person waited for 30 extra minutes on their order (a salad!).\r \r The beer menu is better than average, but not voluminous by any means (slightly above average). The bar area is a neat space, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to have a drink after work, or before attending the museum or an ASO show.\r \r Final verdict: not good, not bad. If I come back, I'll be skipping the food and sitting at the bar. Pros: Decent beer menu, great location, good patio Cons: Sub-par service & food, scarce parking
