Review content:
I have been to Tap twice, and the space is visually very nice. Before going, I read a review to stick with the burger or a salad. I love the burgers and fries at One Midtown Kitchen, so I order the $12.00 burger, expecting something similar. The presentation was very bad. Everything on the plate was brown. The fries looked like a pile of burnt toothpicks, the burger is on a small brown whole wheat english muffin, and there is also a brown micro-mini milkshake. No color or garnish of any kind on the plate. The fries were terrible and did not taste fresh. They crumble in your hands like potato chips. I guess they are cooked down so much that there is not enough potato left to retain any heat. If I am going to eat fries, I at least want them to be fresh and hot. The burger is served on a soft whole wheat English muffin that should have been toasted. The burger is topped with ONLY a pickle and slice of cheap American cheese. Nothing else. No lettuce, onion, tomato, or other veg's. The burger is soft and mushy, and lacks any texture. I gave the brown mico-min milkshake to someone else at my table, so I cannot comment on it other than it is served in a clear disposable shotglass.
Pros: ambieance
Cons: food
