Review content:
this place has been around forever-basically unchanged. it just knows what it is and what it does best: serve up live music and drinks (to the over 21 crowd). actually, going up the second floor balcony you stop momentarily to wonder why this place just doesn't collapse into a pile of sticks and teen rockers. anyway, it has always looked exactly like this as far back as i can remember (20+ years). it's a fun place, combining dive bars (2 indoors, 1 outdoors) with live music in a place large enough where you can move around. i guess you could dance, but people really don't and it's not a dance club anyway. people come to drink and listen to live music. there's (usually) an upstairs and downstairs show, so your chances of finding something you like are doubled(?). there's outdoor seating in the back yard. a lot of bookings are geared towards younger people...but this place is so well rooted as a club that first comes to mind to middle-aged people, i don't think anyone would feel too out of place on most nights. the down side is parking is mostly on the street unless you arrive really early.
Pros: no pretense dive-bars, fun place
Cons: street parking
