Review content:
I visited Southbeach new years eve, a year ago and found the club to be surprisingly progressive. The music was techno and pumping. The cheap drinks were good. I left feeling I wanted to return upon my next visit to Houston. Well, this time was another story. I arrived about 11:30PM on Saturday, 9/8 and was strapped with a wristband (before entering). I suppose this was to show that I was of age, although no one checked my ID. I proceeded to walk in only to be stopped by a nasty drag queen. I wasn't aware that there was a cover charge since I was already strapped with a wristband. (Wouldn't it make sense to put that on the patron after the cover charge was paid? it was like putting the cart before the horse). She/he was very unpleasant and made me feel foolish as though I were purposely trying to get in without paying. I didn't come to Houston to be bullied by a drag queen. I had a pocket full of cash to spend at this place but thanks to her/him, it was spent elsewhere. I won't be back! Pros: great techno music Cons: NASTY DRAG QUEEN AT THE DOOR
