Review content:
Come on guys, Cold Plates. Was there last week (not Valintines day). Never had been there before but pass by everyday on my way to work so decided i should support a local eatery. Sat down and we decided to indulge in the 5 course tasting menu with the wine paring. \r
\r
My first dish was mutton with mushrooms. All the Key Peices were there nice flavor and all but the food was cold. I thought perhaps they went out on a limb an were serving a cold meat salad. I have had them before and am not against them. But the lamb fat just is not so good cold. \r
\r
Second course was citrus rissoto. AGAIN cold, it was put on a cold dish that just saped the food of its heat. I thought it was just simple citrus rissoto but aparently there were supposed to be porcini in there. Dont recall seeing any.\r
\r
Third course pork loin, not cold but getting there. was not very flovorfull either. \r
\r
The food was cooked well and i think the flavor would have been there if it was hot when it arrived at our table. My girlfriend thought the same thing. She had the one hot item the Manicoti, just lacked flavor though.\r
\r
We were presented with some quite nice wines, not all that well paired but nice to drink so it was fine.\r
\r
The service was prompt, knowlegable and friendly \r
\r
The place has a great vibe. Overall enjoyed myself except when i got the bill. (i knew it was comming)\r
\r
Come on Citrus Rissoto course for a 50 dollar tasting menu. I'm thinking 25 cents for a 10 dollar course.\r
.\r
I might consider giving them a second try but would only go in for and entree and glass of wine. 100 per person wine and courses not worth the money.
Pros: Service, ambiance
Cons: tasting menu not worth the money, Cold Plates For Hot Food (come on) may be worth just going in for an entree and glass of wine
