Review content:
We had read some of the reviews posted on Citysearch about Black Pearl. The food and wine menu looked resonable so we gave it a shot. The food turned out to be awesome, the service was solid and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The fried calamari was delicious. It's a simple plain appetizer that many restaurants serve but yet this calamari was so crispy and the jalepeno dipping sauce was the best I've ever tasted. We had 2 orders !. After our apps, we ordered our entrees. I had ordered the Black Pearl Pepper Shrimp which was cooked in a cognac sauce and served with sweet plantains, black beans, rice and a mango salsa. My husband ordered the chicken americano which is a sauteed chicken breast topped with a tarrigon mustard cream sauce served with asparagus and carrot mashed potatoes. The presentation of the food was excellant and visually appealing. The menu was not overwhelming and not super fancy but the dishes we had ordered were will presented , well prepared. and very tasty. Simple food made good! Looking forward to having my husbands birthday party there!
Pros: Beautiful decor, great first a date
Cons: make reservations
