Review content:
I first visited Gold Lake about 8 years ago when my twin sister and I turned 40. We had a wonderful time! It was early November and there was little bit of snow on the ground. We arrived a little before dinner so we went and had a drink while we waited. The bartender was warm and friendly as was the room. We had a fabulous dinner (great service) and just talked and talked. We then went down to the hot pools and soaked while the wind whirled the light dusting of snow around the lake. It was a sight I will never forget. We were both entranced. We then went back to our very comfy beds (we stayed in Pablos cabin) where we read until we fell asleep. The next morning we soaked in the hot pools again and then went and had a scrumptous and healthy breakfast.\r \r Two weeks ago my husband and I went up to celebrate our anniversary and it was just as magical. That evening we took a short walk to check out the hot pools and then went in for dinner. We had a wonderful meal (I had the salmon and my husband the lamb). The service was fantastic. Our waitress (Shannon) was warm, cheerful and took great care of us. After dinner we went and soaked in the hot pools before retiring to our entrancing room. Everything was top-notch; the towels were soft and fluffy, the soaps and lotions were all natural and wonderful smelling, the sheets soft and inviting. I just loved our cabin (Russells). It made me feel like we were so far away from our Boulder life and so pampered!\r \r \r The next morning we walked around the lake, took a canoe out around the perimeter of the lake, walked over to the spa (we didn't partake due to time contraints, but felt more rested just visiting the serene building) and then went over and said hello to the new baby horse. It was just heaven. \r Gold Lake is a real gem! Pros: A real getaway, everything is different from your ordinary life Cons: Pricey - but worth it
