Review content:
Dove Lewis is a once fine institution that has turned into a money grubbing rip off.\r
\r
I had to get emergency treatment for my two dogs on a Saturday evfening and went there because they were the only vet open in a 20 mile radius (or so I thought until I heard about Northwest Vetrinary Specialists on 82d drive in Clackamas). They were more concerned about getting full payment up front than anything else. The bill was going to be pretty large and I just didn't have access to that much cash on a Saturday evening. I called my mom, who was in Albany, and she agreed to cover the bill, but would have to go home 200 miles to Gearhart to get the special emergency credit card out of her desk at home. She's old and doesn't drive at night so she wouln't be able to make the payment until the next afternoon. This wasn't good enough. The doctor made me put my mom on speaker phone in front of two ""witnesses"" and state that yes, she would pay the estimated bill in full and, yes, she would do it by 5:00 the next day. They took her info, ran a credit check and found that she would have no problem with the bill. This ended the matter, or so I thought. Later that night I got a call from Dove Lewis demanding a 50% deposit NOW. I understand the need to get paid, but they were complete a**holes. \r
\r
Now, about the bill. I have no doubt that I was eggregiously overcharged. I will try to get some other vets to confirm or deny this and will update this pst when I do.\r
\r
I will NEVER use Dove Lewis again and will do my best to discourage others from doing so. In my opinion they are nothing but a rip off that financially preys on people at a time when they are willing to pay whatever is asked.
