My mother has lived at this facility for a couple of years now. The facility is in a nice area and the furnishings are beautiful. The full time nursing care is non-existent. There is a nurse who works during the week, otherwise there are CNA's some of whom are helpful others who are not.
My mom can be (well is) difficult but you expect some older people to be that way especially those with dementia. The staff should be well equipped to deal with ""difficult people"". They are not. The director is a joke.
Her room was always filthy when I went there. She has incontinence problems but was paying an additional amount for that service. The staff informed me that she would not let them clean. Again, they should be able to find ways around this especially when someone is paying almost $4000.00 per month. Her bed was rarely made. No sheets on bed most of the time. They had to move her from room with carpet to another room with laminate flooring. They charged 2300 for this move next door. Our family did most of the moving. There were cockroaches everywhere. We had to wash all her clothing, buy a new mattress, throw out her furniture etc......
I do not want her to live with me because she is so difficult but they are suppose to be the ""experts"" in dealing with residents who are elderly etc.....
For the money you could rent an apartment and a live in home companion and probably do a lot better.
