I want to share the story where I was a witness and the one that let me know for the first time this DUI lawyer, Roger Elkind. It was a long time ago where I saw how this attorney checked and could notice when a person deserves to be defended or not. This story, or should I say “case”, it’s a sample of two different testimonies and the way this lawyer knew what to do and how to face the situation. The story says that on November 11th, 2008, a guy was observed driving a motor scooter at 7:28pm on and I saw him drop the scooter twice, and I called the police. Upon arrival, the officers contacted the guy, who was being checked by fire rescue and was found to be uninjured. He was unable to stand without stumbling or swaying and had such slurred speech that it was difficult to understand him. That guy had an odor of alcohol on his breath, and agreed to perform roadside sobriety exercises. Upon arrest, he stated, ""I guess I had too much to drink."" After he was read his Miranda rights, he stated that he ""smoked some pot but it wasn't [his]."" A record check was conducted and it was determined that the defendant's driver's license was permanently revoked since 1984, as he had four prior DUI convictions. The defendant was arrested for DUI and gave breath test results of .067 and .059, which are both below the Florida legal limit of .08. Then, this guy was defended and the defendant learnt that he was lucky to have this DUI lawyer because the guy did not have any relatives in Miami or way to show that he was innocent…..I definitely think that Roger is an excellent attorney!!!
