Dear Christian Brothers on Vista Ridge Parkway:\r \r Strike Three -- You're Out!\r \r First, I will say we have had work done on our vehicle at the 620 location with excellent results. The Vista Ridge location, however, is a different story.\r \r Our first experience with the VR location was we dropped off a car that we were contemplating buying for our son. We requested that they perform the $100+ check to see what, if anything, was wrong with the car before buying. When we picked up the car they had not performed the $100+ check but rather did a ""visual"" and gave it a thumbs up and said everything looked good. (Strike One - for not doing what we requested.)\r \r Our next experience with the VR location was we dropped our car off at 9:00 a.m. to have the brakes checked and replaced. They didn't even look at it until 3:00 p.m. (Strike Two). Once they looked at it they questioned a couple of things on the car. My response was to relay our first experience of -- all this was supposed to have been checked when we brought in the first time - which you guys didn't check. Imagine our surprise when presented with a whole list of things needed to be repaired on the car - some necessary, some maintenance. Even being irked, I thought they had redeemed themselves for doing what we asked them to do the first time free of charge, since they dropped the ball.\r \r They replaced the front brakes. We pick up the car - my son comments that the brakes feel soft/squishy - that he has to almost push them to the floor for them to stop. We return the car the next day to the VR location to have them check the brakes that they just replaced - now the master cylinder needs to be replaced. \r \r I questioned a mechanic (unfortunately in another city or else he would have repaired the brakes) if it was possible that they wouldn't have noticed that the master cylinder needed to be replaced when they replaced the brakes or for that matter would they not have noticed when they drove it after replacing the brakes? His response:\r \r ""No, it is not possible for the techs not to notice when the brakes were fully installed and then again after being road tested. The squishy pedal would have been noticeable the split second the technician pumped the brakes to re-set the calipers. IMO the service center should have not given you back the car if a problem had developed. They should have notified you that the master was faulty and needed replacement, because without the master the car has no brakes. The only suggestion I can offer is if you feel you've been hoodwinked take your vehicle to another garage the next time it needs repairs."" \r (Strike Three)\r \r Darn right, I feel hoodwinked. There's no way I'd bring my car back to Christian Brothers Automotive for anything. They've proven themselves to be untrustworthy in my opinion.
