Review content:
My family and I moved to Austin from Mexico for my husband’s job and I was excited to see students at the Abercorn International School come from diverse backgrounds. Many are foreign students. I just enrolled my daughter in Abercorn and I love that they offer rolling admissions so I was able to enroll my daughter when she was ready. I was interested in the language immersion in Spanish because I was raised speaking Spanish and English. She had some difficulty at first but adjusted quickly and now loves going to school. The school truly has a warm feeling with multiple windows in each classroom letting much natural light in. I feel that some behavioral and academic expectations are very high but they still let children be children. Manners are of high priority at this amazing school which I love at home. The students in the Spanish classes seemed to be having a lot of fun. Mandarin is also a language offered which I feel is important for my child's future. The teachers we have encountered have been excellent. I am really looking forward to the international community that will grow as the school does. Many nations and languages are represented. Students develop a truly global perspective. At the upper levels, students pass the I.B. diploma. The parents are very involved at Abercorn which I appreciate. This is a wonderful school and I am so proud to be a part of the growth.
