My party met in the cozy front of the restaurant near the bar where we had a few drinks and some yuca fries that were amazingly light in grease and heavy in taste. We moved to the dining area where we agreed upon a wine-paired tasting menu that included (alas, I did not partake of the wines?but I was told they were excellent and well matched):\r \r Key West Shrimp and Sweet Plantain Pionono with Sofrito Sauce ? a twist on a dish that I am told normally has ground beef ? nonetheless the shrimp and plaintain were a great pair;\r Farmer Greens, Heirloom Tomato Salad with Creamy Cilantro Dressing - light, fresh and crisp;\r Peekytoe Crabmeat and Avocado Terrine with Key Lime Mayonnaise and Ara?itas ? the mayo was light and finished nicely with the lime;\r Chilean Sea Bass, Corn Broth and Fingerling Potato Croquette Domestic Lamb Chops with Boniato Mash, Grilled Asparagus and Veal Demi ? I believe we were told the chops were from the Hudson valley region; they were succulent and perfectly done;\r Slow Braised Boneless Wagyu Beef Short Ribs with Funche and Island Mojito ? I have to resort to cliche and say the beef melted in my mouth.\r \r Flan, Coconut Tembleque, Oozy Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Sorbet and Dulce de Leche Foam, and Warm Coconut Rice Pudding Tamal with Cajeta Sauce ? all too delicious to describe, with dessert wine.\r The waitstaiff were experienced, attentive and unobtrusive. The waitress servimg the wine was knowledgeable and explained each pairing, then waited for our reactions, opinions and questions. The chef also came out to narrate each dish with story from her youth in Puerto Rico (?this is how my grandmother taught me to make this?? or ?this is how my Sicilian neighbors made this dish??).\r I had no prior experience to this kind of food before. I did not have the expectations that the two reviwers below had, and therefore I may not have been prevented from enjoying myself. \r I heartily recommend this place. \r Pros: Food, staff, location, menu varied. Cons: none.
