Review content:
I wandered Houston eating yearning for complete gastronomic and gustatory satisfaction until I found Kubos. Sitting at the sushi bar allows one to derive its true essence and enjoyment, so at the bar I sat. Initially, the conversation was hesitant and sputtering. I had grown accustomed to the waitstaff most other restaurants use. At Kubo's, a relationship is established with the sushi chef--try this, you won't like that, we'll have your favorite on Thursday! Kubo's offers gastronomic adventures others don't: Hotaru Ika, Sawa Kani, Ankimo--to name a few. And there's always that elusive appetizer menu written in japanese. Honestly, I haven't eaten much from the cooked menu. The sushi is what I crave. The only times I have been disappointed is when they're out of my favorites; It's busy so getting my labor intensive, aesthetically pleasing, succulent morsels of sushi take longer; or it's Monday--and Kubo's is Closed.
Pros: Quality, Ambience, Sake selection
Cons: parking
