i started taking my bike to gotham because it's near my house, and who likes to walk your bike all the way across town to get it fixed? their only pro is proximity. the guys there rude and don't even know what they're doing. or they do and they just try to get you to spend more money... i had a flat tire that they supposedly fixed... changed the tube but didnt clear the obstruction, so i just got another flat. which they then recommended to me that i get a new tire (when it was their fault for not having cleaned out the obstruction). then after all of that, they returned the bike to me and the gears were all messed up! i have a three speed and first gear wouldnt stay put.. kept clicking into second. i took it back, they said they fixed it but they didnt. then they gave me the run-around again and told me that i needed new gears! in the end i called the lovely man from whom i bought the bicycle and he is fixing it all for me for a fraction of what gotham would charge.. and he also says that they had no idea what they were talking about. long story short- these guys are jerks and can't even fix a bike.
Pros: proximity.. if you live in tribeca
Cons: everything else.
