Review content:
We ordered some things for Christmas dinner, including a whole roasted turkey from the Luby's at 1604 & Bandera Road. Well, I picked everything up on Christmas Eve day in the afternoon. They had the food in a big styrofoam cooler thing. I guess I could have checked everything then, but I didn't. I'd ordered from several Luby's in the past and they always had everything right. The next day I took the ""turkey"" out of the bags it came in to heat it up. But it wasn't a whole turkey! It looked like a turkey breast and it was RAW! I panicked! Dinner had been planned to allow enough time at that point to heat up the cooked turkey. It was AWFUL! I finally calmed down and cooked it the best I could. I used a meat thermometer and it took hours! And we didn't want a raw turkey breast, we wanted a cooked turkey. Finally, hours later, everything was ready....things had to be reheated because of the time. We really didn't like the turkey breast. And of course, Luby's was closed, so couldn't get them on the phone. The next day, I went by that Luby's and talked to one of the managers, who couldn't do anything, said I had to talk to the main manager. So I finally got hold of him, I think that was the next day. Well, he couldn't do anything either. Apparently, he (Victor was his name) had to get hold of someone in the Luby's headquarters in Austin. BTW, I wanted a refund on the turkey. Said he'd call the next day, didn't, so I called the day after. Said he couldn't get ahold of anyone yet, office closed for holiday, etc. Then finally called Victor another time. He seemed surprised, said someone at the HQ had told him she would ""take care of it"". Didn't she call me, he said. No. So he gave me a long-distance number to call. I left a message for her. Needless, to say, she hasn't called back. So....it's really a matter of principle at this point! I'm just trying to let everyone know that this particular Luby's CANNOT be trusted! They apparently do not care what customers think. Pros: They at least got the rest of my order... Cons: They got the turkey order wrong and nothing by BS when I complained!
